How We Research and Recommend Safaris
Luxury safari advice online is often vague ("it depends") or written to sell one lodge. Our standard is simple: give readers the numbers and the trade-offs they need to decide.
Our sources
| What we publish | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Park and permit fees | Official tariffs from park authorities (RDB, UWA, TANAPA, KWS, Narok County, Botswana DWNP) |
| Lodge price ranges | Lodges' and operators' published rack-rate sheets for the current season |
| Seasons and wildlife timing | Long-run seasonal patterns, cross-checked with current-year operator reports |
| Logistics (flights, luggage) | Airline and air-charter published rules and current schedules |
Our rules
- Ranges, not false precision. Lodge rates change by season, room type and year, so we give ranges per person per night and tell you what moves the price.
- Every page is dated. We show when a page was last updated, and we review fee-sensitive pages whenever a tariff changes.
- No invented experience. We don't publish fake reviews, testimonials or "we stayed here" claims.
- Trade-offs first. Every destination guide says who should choose somewhere else.
- Health guidance points to experts. On malaria and vaccines we give general context and send you to the CDC and a travel-medicine clinic.
How recommendations relate to our partner
When you click "Plan my safari," you're connected with Safari.com, our referral partner. Their specialists build the itinerary and handle the booking. Our editorial pages are written independently. We recommend destinations, seasons and lodge tiers on merit, including options that cost less. See the affiliate disclosure.
